But it doesn’t have to be that icky processed sugar filled kind. It can actually be good for you! Yes you heard me correctly, chocolate that is good for you and you don’t have to fill guilty about! It’s raw, it’s dark, it’s delicious, and it only takes 10 minutes and three ingredients!
You can also play around with it and add some of these fun ingredients.
Raw Chocolate Valentines
Ingredients:
1/3 cup Coconut Oil (melted)
1/3 Cacao Powder
1 1/2 Tbs Maple Syrup
Directions:
Mix all the ingredients. Pour into chocolate molds, or ice cub trays, or in between wax paper. Put in the freezer until they have solidified and keep in the refrigerator…or just eat with a spoon. Eat these bite sized goodies, chop them up to bake in cookies, or melt and pour over some delicious banana ice cream.
You should also try this tasty Hot Chocolate Cacao (aka: healthier hot chocolate)
Why Cacao? It is a superfood, a top source of antioxidants, magnesium, iron, and fiber. A great way to feed that chocolate craving but without the sugar and processing.
Warm 1 cup almond milk
Then blend on high with 1/2 cup creamy coconut milk, 1 tbs cacao powder, 2-3 dates (depending on how sweet you want it) and a dash of vanilla.
Pour into a cup sprinkle with more cacao or try cinnamon or chili powder for a kick.
Have a happy Valentine’s Day! I’m making up these cute little cards that I saw on Pinterest!
