One Wild Year With Our WILD ONE! Griffin’s First Birthday Party

A one-year-old? What? How? Talk about one wild year! That went by in the blink of an eye. We have been parents for a whole year! Which is insane because I’m pretty sure I just had my baby. If you haven’t caught on, this weekend our little wild one turned ONE! We threw him a little Where the Wild Things Are themed party and it was very fitting to our little wild boy who is constantly running around, making noise, climbing, and throwing things like a wild man.

We opted for a pool party since it is summer and one bajillion degrees here. Though, I was so busy enjoying the party that I hardly took any pictures at all. Here’s a peek at what I did get at least.

Guestbook: We had people take a Polaroid picture and sign in a hardback cover of a Where the Wild Things Are book.

I made a “Let The Wild Rumpus Start” banner. You can purchase my digital file here on Etsy for only $5! You will get 2 banners. This one AND the “Wild One” banner and you will have for all future parties to come. It was so easy to just print and put together myself.

We had a decadent Chocolate Tres Leches cake for the adults.

Here are some first birthday cake ideas:
Applesauce Cake (GF, no refined sugar, has eggs)
Pumpkin Bread Cake (vegan and low sugar)
Make your life super easy with this GF vegan boxed cake hack!

I baked them in these mini cake pans.

Griffin’s Birthday Outfit: Wild One Shirt and Arrow Shorts
Crown: made it myself by hot gluing gold felt on to cardboard and attaching it to an elastic band.

Teepee from Target

Glitter One Cake Topper

Wooden Stump Serving Platter

The cake eating started off slow and we had to put his hands in it to get him interested, but then he quickly discovered the magic of cake.

THANK YOU to everyone who wished my little man a happy birthday and for all of you who have followed along on this motherhood journey with me and watched him grow this past year.
