Banana Roll Ups

After a 5-day juice cleanse I was definitely ready to get some solid food in my belly! This was the perfect thing to break the fast with! I make these all the time and am totally in love with them. They are the perfect meal to grab and go! They are like a more “grown up” version of the simple peanut butter and banana that we all know and love.

The Swiss chard leaf works as the perfect wrap to keep all the added ooey-gooey goodness inside so youcan take it with you and eat as you go without getting all messy. Some dino kale would be great with zthis, but would you believe that I am currently out of kale! I used it all up juicing this week and haven’t made it out to the store. Don’t you worry though I will restock tomorrow!

Did you know that this is actually what your bananas should look like when you eat them?! Eating ripe spotted bananas will prevent bloating and will aid your body in the proper digestion and absorption of nutrients. Bananas help reduce blood pressure & the risk of heart disease. They can regulate the bowel system, reduce menstrual pains, help prevent anemia, and so much more! Plus they are great fuel for a run!

Banana Roll Ups

Ingredients:

1 Swiss chard leaf

1 ripe banana

1 tbsp of your favorite nut butter (I used some freshly ground almond butter. Yum!)

1 tbsp agave, honey, maple syrup

1 tbsp chia seeds

1 tbsp hemp seeds (for added protein)

Top with your favorite granola! Of course my favorite was our Pumpkin Coconut Granola!

Spread your favorite nut butter on the leaf. Place the banana on top. Sprinkle on all the fixins. Roll it up like you would a tortilla. Enjoy!
